Fredrik Linden, European coordinator of the epSOS project, won the HealthTech Innovation Award 2013 at the 6th EMEA summit organized by ID World, a leading international magazine for electronic self-identification systems.
Held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 11 to 12 February, ID World’s EMEA summit brought together project initiators, managers and pioneers in the field of self-identification and wireless IT security technology ((barcodes, smartcards, RFID chips, OCR, etc.) from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The event ended with the ID People Awards ceremony, recognizing the most remarkable project initiators in both the private and public sector. This year, the HealthTech Innovation Award was presented to Fredrik Linden, coordinator of the epSOS project, in which ASIP Santé is involved.

The prize offers recognition to everyone who has worked to promote the adoption of self-identification technology in the healthcare in order to improve patient security (and the security of their personal data), the efficiency of healthcare institutions and the secure distribution of medicines.

HealthTech Innovation is also one of the most renowned international congresses on data security, safety and traceability in the healthcare sector.

The epSOS team thanked everyone involved in the project who contributed to its success.
epSOS (European Patients - Smart open Services) is a healthcare data exchange project which will eventually allow healthcare professionals in different European countries to access services such as patient summaries or e-prescriptions for patients residing in another European country, in their own language.
